About The Position

The Adjunctive Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and conducting therapy programs. This role involves instructing or supervising patients in recreational activities as part of a therapeutic psychiatric treatment program. This position will work four 10-hour days.

Requirements

Bachelors in Fitness, Art, or related field
Licensed CRTS/ART therapy/Dance therapy/Music Therapy/Occupational Therapy is required
All direct patient care staff will be trained in BLS (CPR), which must be renewed every 2 years.
All staff, both clinical and non-clinical, will be trained in CPI as part of their orientation.
All direct patient care staff will be retrained every year.
One (1) year experience of inpatient adjunctive therapy
Basic knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
Knowledge of assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins
Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and direct therapeutic recreational programs and activities for patients.
Develop treatment plans to meet patient needs based on assessments, interests, and therapy objectives.
Conduct therapy sessions to improve patients’ mental and physical well-being.
Observe, analyze, and record patients’ participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying programs as needed.
Document patient progress or regression during activities.
Counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities.
Instruct patients in activities and techniques designed to meet their specific physical or psychological needs.
Encourage patients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in healthy leisure activities.
Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, consulting with other health care professionals to determine a total treatment plan and recommend changes based on observations and evaluations.
Keep current on therapeutic resources available to best help patients.
Uphold the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
