About The Position

We are hiring a Licensed Addiction Counselor for the Passages Alcohol and Drug Treatment Unit. This role involves managing a caseload of clients, providing individual and group counseling, conducting client file reviews, administering SUD evaluations, and making treatment recommendations. The counselor will collaborate with referral sources to ensure successful program completion and case closure. Strong public relations, interpersonal communication, and documentation skills are essential, as is adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements. The position also includes participation in meetings and other professional activities.

Requirements

Must be Montana State Licensed Addictions Counselor Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor – or be certifiable within one year, certified in another state which is transferable, or National certification.
Must be able to pass federal workplace drug screening and background check.
Must hold valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field.
Two years’ experience in field of substance abuse counseling.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of clients.
Provide individual treatment services.
Facilitate group counseling sessions.
Conduct regular reviews of client files to identify assessment needs.
Administer Substance Use Disorder (SUD) evaluations.
Make recommendations regarding chemical dependency treatment and appropriate referrals.
Collaborate with pre-release centers, probation officers, and other referral sources.
Ensure successful program completion and proper case closure.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
Meet deadlines and adhere to contractual and regulatory requirements.
Participate in meetings and other professional activities as required.
