About The Position

The role of the Maritime Licensing Consultant is for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of maritime industry requirements for marine licensing customers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 or more years administrative work preferably in the Marine industry or related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

• Answers internal and external customer questions regarding maritime licensing.
• Processes domestic and international maritime licensing applications.
• Gathers necessary information from customers/clients to process applications.
• Weekly communicates status of licensing applications with individual mariners and/or corporate contacts.
• Act as the filing agent for USCG and other flagship states, such as Marshall Islands.
• Maintain worksheets and other reports daily.
• Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
• Provide supporting documentation to the invoicing department for billing purposes on a monthly basis.
• Travel to various locations within the local area, as needed, to pick-up documents, expedite processessing or to deliver licenses.
