About The Position

The Library Tutor will work 19.5 hours per week until the end of the school year. This position involves instructing at-risk students using prepared lesson plans, facilitating instructional programs under the supervision of teachers and administrators, documenting student progress, planning instructional activities, and collaborating with staff. The role requires a commitment to the district's goals and school improvement plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in education (minimum)
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem solving skills.
  • Successful prior experience working with general education students.
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and the ability to apply these practices.
  • Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
  • Commitment to the District’s goals & school improvement plan goals.

Responsibilities

  • Using prepared lesson plans, instruct at-risk individuals or small groups of students within the regular classroom and occasionally other settings.
  • Facilitate the instructional programs of all assigned students under the supervision of the classroom teacher, Title I Director and Building Principal.
  • Document student performance and progress in collaboration with the classroom teachers and/or the student’s individual program requirements.
  • Plan appropriate instructional activities and administer assessments in collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
