About The Position
Provides public services to library patrons at Scott Memorial Library, Center City campus. Assists Manager of Access Services, Evening & Weekend Access Services Coordinator, and the staff of Learning Resources, Information Services, Collection Management, and University Archives in performing routine library operations and special projects. This is a full-time position that provides services primarily on evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience using personal computers, Apple desktop & mobile devices, and major software programs (email, web browser, Microsoft Office).
- Proven commitment to customer service.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years library work experience
- Knowledge of and experience using Springshare library tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Provides circulation and reserves services to library patrons.
- Assists patrons with library technology, including printing & scanning.
- Performs collections of maintenance operations for print and electronic materials.
- Provides directional assistance and ready reference for library patrons in a variety of modalities: in- person, phone, chat, email.
- Interprets library policy and services to users.
- Participates in training and skill development with other members of the libraries team.
- Scan and digitize materials for inclusion in Jefferson Digital Commons.
- Assist with other University Archives projects as assigned.
- Substitute for other members of the department as needed.
- Cross-train for Library Resource functions and provide coverage as needed.
- Maintains appropriate records and statistics.
- Contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for all.
- Serve as “designated emergency staff” during weather & other emergencies.
