Position Information Job Series: Education – Librarians Classification: Library Supervisor / Expert Class Code: ELI04P Pay Grade: SGS08 Salary Range: $63,086 – $93,367 Job Summary The Library Supervisor / Expert is a highly specialized and experienced professional responsible for providing advanced knowledge and expertise in library science. This role involves designing and implementing innovative library services, conducting research, offering guidance to internal library personnel, and ensuring best practices in library management. The supervisor / expert collaborates with educational agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and a variety of assorted personnel in an attempt to enhance the quality and accessibility of library services and promote lifelong learning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in library management or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of library science principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Proven experience in conducting research, data analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of assorted personnel, including educators, community leaders, and internal library personnel.
  • Experience in designing and delivering professional development and training programs.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to library services.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in library science and information management.
