About The Position

The Knappa School District is seeking to fill ONE 6-hour, 4 days per week, Library/Student Supervision Specialist position at Knappa School District. This role involves operating and maintaining the library's systems, assisting students and staff, managing library materials, and supervising students within and outside the library.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to pass competency test OR Two-year college degree.

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains electronic, computerized circulation and cataloging system for books and other library materials.
Establishes procedures for involving students, school staff, administrators, and library staff in evaluating and selecting materials.
Prepares current materials for display or other placement in the school library.
Assists students with check-out and check-in procedures and use of computers and other equipment in the school library.
Obtains materials pursuant to teacher requests.
Sets standards for library behavior and always supervises students while they are present in the school library. Maintains required records including student attendance.
Trains and supervise student assistants in a variety of routine library tasks.
Prepares purchase orders, inspects incoming orders of new books, other printed materials, and audio-visual software equipment, and verifies shipments against purchase orders and order cards.
Takes reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
Labels, jackets and stamps library materials and maintain district printing/supplies.
Conducts annual inventory of library materials. Prepares lists of missing/lost books and other library materials, and books/materials to be discarded.
Has consistent, daily and punctual attendance.
Assist with district technology and troubleshooting, Book Fairs and Summer Library.
Supervise students outside of the library schedule.
