About The Position
As a Library Page, you will play a vital role in maintaining the order and organization of our library shelves, ensuring a seamless experience for patrons in accessing library materials.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Enthusiasm for books, reading, and library services
- Regularly move up to 50 pounds with the aid of a cart
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of library classification systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Retrieve library materials from book drops and return them to their designated shelves accurately
- Shelf reading to organize and arrange materials in proper order according to the library's classification system
- Assist in keeping the library shelves tidy and well organized
- Aid patrons in locating books and materials on the shelves
- Assist with setup and breakdown of library displays and exhibits
- Provide support to library staff during events and programs
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues related to shelving, furniture, or equipment
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned work areas
- Assist with cleaning as needed
- Assist in organizing and promoting library events, such as book clubs, workshops, and reading programs
