About The Position

Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) is seeking an innovative, self-reflective, collaborative, and knowledgeable educator to serve as a Library Media Specialist at Albemarle High School for the 2026-27 School Year. ACPS is committed to providing students with authentic, challenging, and relevant learning experiences to foster lifelong learning and leadership in a dynamic and diverse society. The division is dedicated to ending the predictive value of race, class, gender, and special capacities on student success through high-quality teaching and learning for all. Requirements

Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement as a Library Media Specialist.
Be innovative, self-reflective, collaborative, and knowledgeable in content area and instructional practices.
Be passionate about closing equity and achievement gaps.
Be prepared to engage with our Culturally Responsive Teaching model.

Responsibilities

Serve as an educator in Albemarle County Public Schools.
Provide students with authentic, challenging, and relevant learning experiences.
Contribute to building school communities that share the responsibility to recognize and end racism.
Eliminate inequitable practices that result in achievement gaps.
Support the unique gifts, talents, and interests of every child.
Engage with the Culturally Responsive Teaching model in support of the Equity Mission Statement.
