Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for developing and delivering academic instruction and a classroom climate that are consistent with district policy and philosophy and that maximize student potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. This role involves implementing appropriate research-based instructional strategies, delivering differentiated instruction, designing lesson plans, and implementing district curriculum. The specialist will maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, develop classroom rules, and prepare instructional materials and assessments. Responsibilities also include providing whole group, small group, and one-to-one instruction, managing student behavior, and collaborating with support staff and other faculty to ensure consistency in instructional delivery and campus procedures. The role requires monitoring students, maintaining data-based documentation of student performance, and fostering professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Participation in staff development, extracurricular activities, and committees is also expected.
