About The Position
This position is a 0.5 FTE at Oakridge Elementary School. Salary will be based on the FY 2026-27 salary schedule. Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements
- High school diploma
- An Associate Degree or two years of college study.
- At least 60 semester hours, 12 which must be in English or mathematics, depending on job responsibilities
- A score of at least 455 on the Parapro Test.
- Experience working with a Library Media Specialist.
- Experience working in an elementary school setting.
- Assistants must meet the requirements of the NCLB and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Performs clerical and instructional support work in the library/media center.
- Familiarity with library procedures and children’s literature.
- Ability to work and to interact in a positive and courteous manner with all students, staff and parents.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Patient, flexible, and dependable.
