This part-time on-site position for approximately 20 hours per week is responsible for developing the Bismarck Library Foundation, Inc. (BLF) donor base and growing financial support for operating, endowment, and the library’s special project needs. The role involves working as a team with the BLF Administrative Officer under the supervision of the Library Director with oversight from the BLF Board of Directors. The Executive Director will work with the BLF Board of Directors and six standing committees to meet the BLF's mission of enriching publicly-funded library services by raising private funds to enhance collections, resources, and facilities. This includes managing the BLF office, planning and prioritizing tasks, researching and submitting grant proposals, conducting board and committee meetings, providing monthly activity reports, overseeing annual giving clubs, and working with the events committee on annual events. The position also involves serving as editor and writer for the BLF’s newsletter, developing content for publications, drafting media releases, maintaining webpages, utilizing social media, developing goals and objectives, recommending revisions to the strategic fundraising plan, and overseeing the creation of the annual budget. Frequent communication with the BLF Administrative Officer, BLF Board of Directors, and Library Administration is essential to ensure smooth operations.
