Fort Bend County is seeking a Part-Time Library Clerk for its Sugar Land location. This role involves assisting patrons, managing library materials, and performing various clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the library. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
Working 24 hours per week based on location.
Strong computer skills.
Keyboard and typing skills
Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with staff and the public.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, talk, listen, and reach materials up to 25 lbs. on a daily basis.
Occasional sitting (varies by unit)
Close vision, distant vision, ability to distinguish color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Responds to patron inquiries by phone and in person.
Shelves library materials and maintains shelf order.
Charges and discharges library materials using an automated system.
Receives, sorts, and processes delivery items.
Prepares items for the Hold Shelf.
Reroutes circulation materials to other branches.
Registers patrons and issues library cards.
Collects fines and fees.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, Staff Development Day, committee meetings, and training sessions.
May perform duties such as ordering supplies, processing periodicals, processing, mending, and cleaning books and/or AV items, ordering and receiving library materials/checking invoices, creating records, changing holdings using an automated system, processing mail for the library system, performing database maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
