About The Position

The Youth Services Department at Main Library is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Children’s Programmer to lead and coordinate children’s activities both in the library and out in the community. Responsibilities include planning, promoting, and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities for children and families. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, creative and love working with kids of all ages. Activities include story time, crafting, afterschool events, and other creative endeavors. This job also involves introducing and suggesting books and authors that promote literacy to families, as well as assisting with day-to-day tasks performed by library staff, including the willingness to enforce rules of conduct. Must be comfortable working with the public, children and teens, and providing friendly and professional assistance to a diverse community.
