About The Position

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for the Librarian, Systems and Technical Support position. This 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position will provide support for library software and electronic resources, and first-line support and maintenance of the integrated library system ( ALMA ) in order that the library’s resources are available regardless of the location of the student or resources. The System’s Librarian will assist public and technical services staff in implementing and using the integrated library system ( ALMA ) including circulation, reference, serials, acquisitions and cataloging faculty and staff. In collaboration with other library faculty will serve as liaison to academic departments. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary negotiable, commensurate with qualifications and experience; competitive benefits program.

Requirements

Master’s degree ( ALA accredited) in Library or Information Science
Familiarity with integrated library systems ( ALMA preferred), electronic resources, web design, and the hardware and software used in library applications
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
