Fort Bend County is seeking a Librarian III-Branch Manager for the Fulshear Branch Library. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch, including building and grounds maintenance, inventory, and equipment recommendations. The Branch Manager will also be responsible for interviewing, training, scheduling, supervising, and reviewing the performance of assigned staff, as well as recommending new hires, transfers, promotions, discipline, and discharges. This position involves maintaining statistical records, preparing reports, managing the unit budget, and performing collection development tasks such as recommending materials, preparing orders, and weeding outdated items. The role requires attending various library meetings, conferences, and training sessions, and providing guidance to staff on bibliographic and computer-assisted services. The Librarian III will interact with patrons to assist with material selection and information needs, conduct complex searches in various databases, and represent the library system in the community. Responsibilities also include planning and conducting programs for adults and children, recommending policy changes, and overseeing youth services activities like story time and the Summer Reading Club. Additionally, the position requires participation in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster.
