About The Position

Provides ACC Campus Library Services reference services to ACC students, faculty and staff, including in person, phone, email and library chat, as needed. Scheduled hours may vary, but shifts will primarily be scheduled during the morning and early afternoon, typically from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Requirements

Library principles and practices in an academic setting.
Ability to maintain an established work schedule.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of constituent information.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, collegial workplace relationships.
Ability to communicate orally, in writing and electronically, in a concise and effective manner.
Proficiency in using PCs, office productivity software, knowledge of electronic information resources, the Internet and wikis, laptops, iPads, and general office equipment
Expertise with print and electronic information and reference resources in an academic environment.
Proficiency in using office productivity software, internet search tools, wikis, iPads, laptops.
Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
Reliable transportation may be required for working at multiple campus locations.

Responsibilities

Provides ACC Campus Library Services reference services to ACC students, faculty and staff, including in person, phone, email and library chat.
Works with other ACC Library Services and primary campus library faculty and staff, maintaining records and statistical data and, as assigned, collection maintenance, subject bibliography, information literacy support, web or wiki page maintenance, special projects, and reports.
Participates in critical record keeping practices including using reference desk software designed to gather student learning outcome data.
