About The Position

Provide leadership to the Renton Liaison Engineering Team, including supervision and work distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability gained through 5+ years progressively important engineering assignments
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated use of proactive problem solving approach
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • Must be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies, training and experience in use of Six Sigma tools

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge with PCMS, CMS-80, Creo/Windchill, PLR/FRACAS

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Liaison Engineering support for Production, interfacing with internal and external departments and divisions to resolve immediate design/build questions
  • Ensures containment of identified shop floor issues pending permanent corrective action; implements corrective actions where appropriate
  • Communicates issue and/or project status updates to stakeholders in various levels of the PACCAR organization
  • Reviews upcoming builds to anticipate and mitigate potential production challenges
  • Monitors PLR database, prioritizes issues, and distributes workload
  • Communicates with Division engineering to coordinate issue resolution; participates in development of long term design solutions to identified issues
  • Supports Division prototype and pilot trials and provides constructive feedback
  • Facilitates resolution of engineering related PQI issues
  • Reviews supplier quality questions on PPAP sample submissions; initiates engineering deviations, as appropriate
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives within Liaison Engineering, champions Six Sigma projects
  • Evaluates requests for deviation from Engineering standards
  • Manages staffing, and training and development of Liaison Engineering Team
  • Other duties as assigned
