The NYC Law Department is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Staff Analyst Level 1 position as a Liaison Assistant. The Liaison Assistant is responsible for assistance with the recruitment of legal assistant, non-paid interns and staff, pro bono attorneys and college aide positions. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Personnel, duties include but not limited to: - Assist the Legal Assistant Liaisons in personnel actions as it relates to the onboarding of legal assistants, non-paid interns and staff, pro bono attorneys and college aides. - Assist in the coordination of managing the undergraduate and high school internship programs. - Assist in the preparation and submission of job vacancy notices via NYCAPS. - Assist with civil service list requests, hiring pools and disposition of civil service lists. - Review candidates’ application packets and eligibility in meeting the minimum qualifications for the position. - Perform review of submitted paperwork. - Assist in scheduling interviews and performing job offers. - Assist in the planning and coordination and provide assistance in conducting new hire orientation for newly hired college aide and intern staff. This includes collaborating and coordinating the availability of dates, conference rooms, and presenters. Corresponding will all newly hired staff regarding completed personnel processing and orientation day/week details. - Responsible for the personnel processing of non-paid staff which may include the review of background checks. - Perform administrative tasks as it pertains to the responsibilities noted above, and assigned tasks or projects as needed, such as, but not limited to, assembling application, orientation and/or presentation packets, creating files, data entry, filing, phone calls, photocopying, updating hiring pool, orientation or presentation materials, and/or Excel spreadsheets.
