We’re seeking a skilled NDT professional to play a key role in overseeing nondestructive testing (NDT) activities across Electric Boat facilities. In this position, you’ll serve as a trusted technical resource—conducting evaluations, offering guidance, and applying expertise across multiple NDT methods including magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), visual (VT), radiographic (RT), and ultrasonic testing (UT). You’ll have a direct impact on the quality and reliability of critical work by performing program evaluations and audits, witnessing re-inspections, monitoring NDT program administration, reviewing training and onboarding practices, and assessing the overall performance and health of each NDT program. Additional responsibilities include: Performing reviews and surveillances to ensure alignment with fabrication, welding, and NAVSEA NDT specifications Maintaining and enhancing company standards, procedures, and best practices for NDT Providing technical guidance to support manufacturing operations and resolve issues Collaborating across a wide range of EB departments and external partners including Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, program offices, Newport News Shipbuilding, SUPSHIP Groton, and NAVSEA Preparing clear, detailed technical reports documenting oversight findings, investigations, and research efforts The selected candidate will be expected to obtain Level III certification within one year, supported by our team and resources.
