AM /PM Caregiver
About The Position
Always Best Care is seeking experienced Level III caregivers throughout Napa and Solano County. This role is ideal for caregivers who are confident providing hands-on personal care and supporting clients with more involved daily needs. The caregiver will provide attentive care that helps seniors feel safe, comfortable, and respected at home. Along with personal care and mobility assistance, you’ll prepare meals, offer medication reminders according to the care plan, assist with light housekeeping, and provide companionship. We value caregivers who notice what needs attention, offer choices, encourage participation, and take initiative while respecting each client’s preferences.
Requirements
- Hands-on personal care experience.
- Safe mobility and transfer skills experience.
- Dementia care skills.
- Sound observation and communication skills.
- Strong documentation habits.
- Dependability.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A registered, insured vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with gait belts, Hoyer lifts, and other transfer equipment.
- Patience with repeated questions, thoughtful redirection, and a calm approach when a client is confused or resistant to care.
- Recognizing changes in a client’s condition and promptly reporting concerns to the office.
- Accurate task completion and detailed shift notes that describe the care provided and the client’s response.
- Consistent availability, punctuality, and clear communication with the scheduling team.
- Notice what needs attention, offer choices, encourage participation, and take initiative while respecting each client’s preferences.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on personal care: Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care while protecting each client’s dignity.
- Assist with safe mobility and transfer skills using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, and other transfer equipment, following the care plan and required training.
- Provide dementia care with patience, thoughtful redirection, and a calm approach.
- Observe and communicate changes in a client’s condition and promptly report concerns to the office.
- Document accurate task completion and detailed shift notes that describe the care provided and the client’s response.
- Maintain dependability with consistent availability, punctuality, and clear communication with the scheduling team.
- Prepare meals.
- Offer medication reminders according to the care plan.
- Assist with light housekeeping.
- Provide companionship.
