The Trauma PI Coordinator works in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager (TPM), Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Associate Trauma Medical Director (ATMD), Trauma Nurse Clinician (TNC), Trauma Outreach and Injury Prevention Coordinator, and the interdisciplinary team that participates in the management of care provided to the injured patient. The Trauma PI Coordinator evaluates the quality of trauma care from the prehospital setting to hospital discharge. The Trauma PI Coordinator is responsible for coordination and facilitation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Program (PIPS) including injury prevention activities, data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. Participates in trauma registry data collection, data validations, understanding of injury scoring, statistical data analysis, and report design to support outreach, injury prevention and research initiatives. Collaborates with trauma program leadership to ensure compliance with the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Trauma Designation regulations, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards in relation to maintaining Level 1 Trauma verification, and the hospital facility quality measures related to Performance Improvement at Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center (JMMTC).
