About The Position

Canada Post is an exciting place to work! In this role, you may be called upon to do on-call delivery agent OR on-call postal clerk work. As an on-call delivery agent (letter carrier), you’ll be the face of Canada Post in your community, ensuring customers and businesses receive their mail and parcels. As an on-call postal clerk, you will have the opportunity to work various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. This temporary on-call position is an excellent opportunity to learn about mail operations and the various job opportunities available at Canada Post.

Requirements

A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
The ability to work in all types of weather
The availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends
The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French

Nice To Haves

Experience in customer service
Experience making deliveries or working as a driver
Experience working in a production environment is an asset

Responsibilities

As a Delivery Agent: Sort and prepare daily deliveries, load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle, deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to customers on your route, and return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery.
As a Postal Clerk: Work inside a sorting facility, sorting mail and packages, operate material handling equipment, receive and accept mail items, sort, scan, sequence, and batch mail items, transfer and dispatch parcels and packets, perform other postal clerk duties as required, and complete reports and documentation.
