About The Position

Apple's module engineering and quality team is seeking a motivated, technically oriented supplier quality engineer to manage Lens (optical part) module quality at suppliers. This role involves developing and implementing quality processes and tools for all aspects of module quality during development and mass production. The engineer will collaborate with Apple's cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure high-quality products, provide direction to suppliers, and develop quality programs to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability. The role includes leading suppliers for inspection system DFM and qualification, and OK2send processes during new product development. The engineer will also work with lens optical engineering/TPM to define quality specifications, set up incoming material inspection, testing, and sampling plans, and establish CTQ process control in manufacturing lines with suppliers. Additionally, the role involves establishing OQC inspection and testing processes, resolving complex manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues with suppliers using DOE and statistical approaches, and developing robust processes for Failure Analysis (FA) on customer returns to incorporate customer feedback into process changes and product development. The engineer will publish reports on supplier performance and conduct regular process audits. Building a data digitalization system with quality sense and computer science is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Master/BS in Optical or Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering with relevant working experience in quality or equivalent.
  • Familiar with quality tools, including Cpk, DOE, DFMEA, MSA, sampling plan, data distribution, data correlation.
  • Direct working experience in assembly, inspection and test process development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with suppliers to solve product problems.
  • Understand Optical testing and mechanical drawing specification and appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Familiar with supplier auditing and development.
  • Fluent in written and oral English communication.
  • Familiar with data analysis tool like Minitab, JMP and capability to do big data analysis.
  • Familiar with TA analysis, understand the 2D/3D model and drawing.
