Position Summary The Lending Support Specialist I assists lenders by explaining complex processes, responding to procedural questions, and providing technical guidance. This position assists lenders and the credit team with various tasks including document preparation, identifying and resolving technical issues, and assisting with compliance reviews and examinations. The Lending Support Specialist I reports to the Lending Support & Development Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related field
  • 1 year of experience in commercial lending support, credit analysis, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to understand and apply knowledge of lending processes, documentation, collateralization, UCC-1 Law, lien perfection, and deeds of trust
  • Ability to understand and apply knowledge of lending regulations, loan underwriting, audit standards and risk management relevant to the lending function
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Support lenders by explaining complex processes, responding to procedural questions, and providing technical guidance
  • Provide administrative support to lenders to include assistance with data entry and document preparation. Handle routine inquiries and requests.
  • Identify and resolve technical or system issues involving the loan application process or other lending tasks. Partner with Lending Systems Support, IT Support, or other relevant teams as needed to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of lending procedures, regulations, and system changes in order to provide accurate and timely assistance to lenders
  • Collaborate with business units such as underwriting, processing, and closing to facilitate optimal workflows and efficient problem solving
  • Provide administrative support to the credit team to include assistance with compliance reviews and examinations, preparation of incentives, and compiling various reports as needed
  • Support process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, recommending solutions, and facilitating enhancements to lending workflows and systems
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Attend training as requested
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Participate in outside community activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
