About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Lending Compliance Manager to oversee consumer lending compliance across origination, underwriting, servicing, and fair-lending activities. This role will assess regulatory controls, investigate exceptions, drive remediation, and ensure adherence to ECOA, TILA, FCRA, UDAAP, and other consumer protection requirements.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of consumer lending compliance, regulatory compliance, or related risk management experience
• Deep expertise in ECOA/Regulation B, TILA/Regulation Z, FCRA/Regulation V, UDAAP/UDAP, and fair-lending requirements
• Demonstrated proficiency in compliance monitoring, control testing, control assessment, and issue management across lending origination and servicing
• Strong expertise in loan origination, underwriting, credit decisioning, loan servicing, payment processing, and account management processes
• Advanced analytical and root-cause analysis skills; ability to identify trends, assess control deficiencies, and determine remediation scope and consumer impact
• Excellent policy and procedure review capabilities; ability to evaluate proposed operational and system changes for compliance implications
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to partner effectively with business, compliance, operations, legal, and risk teams to investigate exceptions and drive corrective action
• Proficiency with compliance monitoring tools, issue tracking systems, and reporting; strong Excel and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Review lending activities across application intake, credit decisioning, underwriting, adverse action, manual review, overrides, and exception management to identify control gaps and compliance risks
• Assess underwriting and credit-policy exceptions, identify recurring trends and documentation deficiencies, and evaluate fair-lending, UDAAP, disclosure, and adverse-action concerns
• Execute compliance monitoring, control reviews, quality-assurance assessments, and testing activities across lending origination and servicing processes; review audit findings, complaints, and risk indicators
• Perform root-cause analysis on identified issues, determine consumer impact scope, and maintain issues and remediation trackers with risk rating, ownership, corrective actions, and closure status
• Evaluate loan servicing controls covering payment posting, account adjustments, fees, payoff processing, statements, and account corrections; assess hardship programs, modifications, settlements, and credit-reporting activities
• Review pricing, APRs, fees, disclosures, borrower notices, and related controls; assess servicing transfers, account-data integrity, reconciliation, and customer communications for compliance
• Challenge incomplete corrective actions, validate remediation effectiveness, and support compliance risk assessments of higher-risk lending processes
• Review and maintain lending compliance policies, procedures, and operating guidance; assess product changes, underwriting standards, pricing, disclosures, and systems for compliance implications; partner with Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations stakeholders to implement required changes
