About The Position
The Connecticut General Assembly's nonpartisan legal services office seeks two full time permanent staff attorneys for a unique legal opportunity in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Superior writing and analytical skills
- Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proactive approach to work
- Strong self-motivation
- Ability to perform excellent work under tight deadlines
- Willingness and ability to work long hours during legislative sessions
- Excellent academic record
- Law degree
- Admission to the Connecticut bar at the time of hiring
Responsibilities
- Working with Legislators to draft legislation
- Serving as legal counsel to one or more legislative committees
- Providing related legal services
- Indexing and codifying public acts for publication
- Reviewing proposed state agency regulations
