THE OPPORTUNITY The Legislative Affairs Associate is responsible for supporting the work of an externally facing function that delivers public policy solutions for KONGSBERG US and the overall enterprise. This position is critical for keeping the team organized and operating seamlessly to meet objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with a high functioning team across several markets, learn the nexus between public policy and business, and develop critical skills to enhance a career and leadership path. You will work with a team that supports and liaises with senior executives of the company as well as other notable external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree and 1+ years of experience; internships will qualify.
  • Demonstrate a strong ownership mindset, working independently to anticipate needs, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results aligned with company values.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, effectively handling multiple tasks, competing priorities, and complex follow-ups.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal operations and processes, including planning, tracking deliverables, and managing projects.
  • Support development and production of materials for meetings, events, and executive briefings, including high-quality and confidential presentations.
  • Track legislation and hearings in Congress and provide timely and relevant updates to the team.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with projects and overall office operations, supporting low- to medium-complexity initiatives under senior staff guidance.
  • Provide executive and administrative support to department leadership, including calendar, travel, expenses, IT coordination, and document management.
