About The Position

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a Legal Talent Acquisition Assistant Manager to lead entry-level legal talent acquisition for our Washington, DC office. This role will play a key leadership role within the US Legal Recruiting team, partnering with business leaders and stakeholders to develop and execute innovative strategies for entry-level recruitment in a highly competitive market. The Legal Talent Acquisition Assistant Manager will oversee the full entry-level recruitment lifecycle, manage and mentor junior team members, and ensure the delivery of a best-in-class candidate experience aligned with the firm’s strategic goals. This role will be based in Washington DC and report to the Head of Legal Talent Acquisition – Americas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive legal recruitment experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with significant experience in entry-level recruitment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or managing junior team members.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute recruitment strategies for entry-level hiring in a competitive market, with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of recruitment methodologies, candidate engagement, and best practices in entry-level legal talent acquisition.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and reporting skills, with experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Client service focused, with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for all entry-level legal talent acquisition for the Washington, DC office, providing expert guidance to hiring partners, practice areas, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine recruitment strategies and roadmaps to attract top entry-level legal talent, ensuring alignment with the firm’s growth objectives and market trends.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end entry-level recruitment process, including sourcing, pipeline development, recruitment campaigns, candidate assessment, interview management, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to junior recruiters and team members involved in entry-level hiring, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance within the team.
  • Oversee and ensure the effective use of applicant tracking systems and recruitment analytics for entry-level hiring, preparing and presenting regular reports on recruitment metrics, market intelligence, and progress to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers, recruitment agencies, and external partners focused on entry-level talent, including negotiation of terms and ongoing performance review.
  • Collaborate with Business Professional teams and other internal departments to deliver a seamless onboarding and integration experience for entry-level hires.
  • Champion and support the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the entry-level recruitment process, ensuring compliance with firm policies and relevant regulations.
  • Analyze recruitment trends, market data, and industry developments to proactively recommend and implement process improvements and innovative sourcing strategies for entry-level talent.
  • Represent the firm at external events, career fairs, and within the legal recruiting community to enhance the firm’s employer brand and expand the entry-level talent network.
  • Ensure all entry-level recruitment activities adhere to the firm’s policies, OFCCP guidelines, and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives related to entry-level hiring as assigned by senior management.
