About The Position

This role provides multifaceted legal advice and support to the Valves business within the Industrial Products portfolio. The Senior Legal Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor, partnering closely with commercial, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive growth while managing legal and compliance risk. The position is responsible for leading the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, providing guidance on contract risk, managing legal and compliance affairs for the valves business, advising leadership on day-to-day legal matters, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Significant experience in a similar role providing legal counsel, with at least 10 years’ experience in similar role in-house or at a law firm
  • Impressive knowledge and experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and transactions
  • Demonstrated deep project management skills and process improvement skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in interacting with cross-functional teams and providing strategic legal and compliance guidance to leadership
  • Natural communicator, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Motivated self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to lead and solve problems

Nice To Haves

  • In-house experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or oil & gas sectors preferred
  • Experience supporting products-based businesses (e.g., valves, equipment, industrial systems) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leading draft, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including Sales agreements (standard and bespoke), Distribution, channel partner, and OEM agreements, Long-term supply agreements (LTAs), EPC and project-related contracts (where applicable)
  • Providing clear and actionable guidance on contract risk and mitigation strategies
  • Being primarily responsible for the management and coordination of legal and compliance affairs for the the valves business.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to Valves business leadership on day-to-day legal matters
  • Supporting strategic initiatives, including new market entry, digital offerings, and product lifecycle matters
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with finance, compliance, tax, and operations
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, including Export controls and sanctions, Competition/antitrust, and Integrity and Code of Conduct
