About The Position

Key Media is hiring a Legal Researcher to contribute to legal and business journalism. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise in legal research, develop a keen eye for detail, and have work published to a global audience of business leaders and legal professionals. Requirements

  • Experience in legal research.
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for accuracy and completeness.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Availability to work the mid shift (3 PM – 12 AM PH time).
  • Demonstrated legal writing & research experience.
  • A background in law (e.g., having attended law school or completed legal studies coursework).

  • A background in writing or editorial work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and identify different sections of court documents.
  • Summarize court documents using AI-powered tools while ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Review and verify all research output to maintain editorial integrity.
  • Monitor external sources daily for updates on court cases and business deals.
  • Conduct email outreach to law firms and organizations to confirm details about ongoing transactions and legal cases.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, closing cases when necessary.
  • Collaborate with a global team of journalists and editors to ensure content quality and timeliness.
  • Input and manage information in a deals database, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Research and cover key business topics including employment law, M&A, capital markets transactions, and litigation
