About The Position

Parker Poe is seeking a Legal Professional Assistant (LPA) for its Atlanta office to provide administrative support to attorneys. For over a century, Parker Poe has represented major companies and local governments in the Southeast in transactions, regulatory issues, and complex litigation. The LPA will maintain a regular work schedule of 7.5 hours per day, totaling 37.5 hours per week, with potential for additional hours and overtime as business needs arise. This position requires full-time, in-office attendance.

Requirements

  • Minimum Three years of legal assistant experience in litigation and an associate degree or the combined equivalent of experience and education
  • Experience supporting one or more of the following practice group(s) required: Litigation, Workers’ Compensation
  • Proficiency with Federal and State Court filing systems preferred (PACER knowledge a plus)
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience using a legal time and billing system
  • Familiarity with electronic workflow systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Motivated, self-directed individual with ability to anticipate and resolve issues
  • Ability to prioritize work projects and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player, willing to help other team members during peak times

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with public school systems is preferred
  • PACER knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and index legal documents.
  • Prepare state and federal court filings.
  • Schedule appointments, maintain attorney calendars, and calendar deadlines, hearings, mediations, and other time-sensitive matters accurately and promptly.
  • Manage and update contact information.
  • Assist with new client intake.
  • Maintain files in the firm’s electronic records management system.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
