About The Position

The Multifamily Housing Practice Group represents lenders in the multifamily housing industry, closing loans secured by multifamily properties and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. The Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) provides high level support to multiple attorneys in the Multifamily Housing practice group, including revising complex loan documents to complete loan transactions in accordance with detailed, precise instructions from attorneys and lenders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems, including recordkeeping and filing.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop familiarity with, the roles and functions of the assigned department, as well as any specifically applicable laws, regulations, or guidelines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong understanding of department objectives, key activities, and requirements to anticipate and proactively address team needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality service and work effectively with diverse groups at various levels within the firm and with external contacts.
  • Ability to provide high-quality, professional client service to both internal and external clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent grammar, punctuation, and proof-reading skills, with the ability to clearly, effectively, and professionally interact with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain appropriate discretion.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in both hybrid and in-office settings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively to support consistent and efficient workflow processes.
  • Minimum five (5) years legal and/or Real Estate administrative support experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Document Management Systems, such as, iManage.

Responsibilities

  • Draft complex loan documents and prepare required signature pages in compliance with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and client-specific requirements.
  • Generate blackline document comparisons to identify and track revisions.
  • Implement revisions to loan documents based on detailed and precise instructions from attorneys and applicable lenders.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of Multifamily Housing attorney deal tracking spreadsheets.
  • Identify and respond promptly and professionally to internal and external client inquiries, seeking feedback and follow-up as appropriate.
  • Contribute to an environment of superior client service by working collaboratively with attorneys and staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources, as appropriate, to complete projects and tasks.
  • Take appropriate action to track, monitor, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client matters and other attorney-related information.
