About The Position

The Legal Office Administrator 1 position with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department is a great opportunity to build your skills in a fast-paced legal environment. This role supports essential departmental work that helps protect consumers and strengthen the insurance market. This position supports the legal office by assisting attorneys and staff with work that keeps daily operations moving smoothly. It plays a key role in helping the Office of Chief Counsel meet important legal and administrative needs.

Requirements

  • Two years of varied office management or staff work within a public or private legal office.
  • Two years of experience in preparing and filing court documents.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing proposed regulations and help track and respond to commenters
  • Help prepare procurement documents and support procurement processes with staff and counsel
  • Review and develop policies and procedures using independent judgment within established laws and guidelines
  • Support attorneys with research, draft memoranda, organize exhibits, and assist with hearings
  • Finalize court documents, ensure compliance with rules, and file materials with appropriate courts or tribunals
  • Assist with public records requests, subpoenas, and responses to legal inquiries
