As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. It provides an environment for learning and growth for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology. NBCU Corporate groups are central to the organization, with employees using their expertise to support all businesses. Areas of placement for this role may include Corporate Legal – Music Business & Legal Affairs (JD-level), which services clients in the Film & Television portfolios, covering the lifecycle of film and a vast portfolio of sports, news, streaming, entertainment networks, and television production operations.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire
  • Must be a current J.D. candidate in good standing

Nice To Haves

  • Current class standing of 2L or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Ability to understand music-related concepts and contractual language is a plus
  • Strong interest in music and/or transactional work

Responsibilities

  • Researching music rights
  • Analysing and summarizing music deal terms
  • Drafting music talent agreements
  • Reviewing production content for music information
  • Assisting with tracking rights, analysis, and grid maintenance
