About The Position

Lowe’s Legal Intern will gain exposure to legal matters affecting a large retailer while working alongside attorneys and legal professionals. The internship offers hands-on learning and mentorship across areas including corporate governance, contracts, compliance, real estate, labor and employment, intellectual property, and litigation. Interns conduct research, draft documents, support negotiations and compliance initiatives, and learn how in-house counsel advises business leaders. This is part of Lowe’s 10-week summer internship program, scheduled for May 24 through July 30, 2027, and is based at the company’s headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) program.
Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

Nice To Haves

3.0 cumulative GPA.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and data analysis tools.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Relevant coursework or prior legal internship experience.
Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and emerging issues.
Draft memoranda, contracts, and compliance documents under attorney supervision.
Assist with corporate governance and entity management processes.
Support attorneys in labor, employment, and compliance matters.
Participate in contract review, negotiation, and risk analysis.
Gain exposure to litigation management, intellectual property, and real estate transactions.
Observe and learn about the role of in-house counsel in advising business leaders.
