About The Position

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY, with internship dates ranging from June 1, 2027 to July 31, 2027 (can be flexible on dates). Gain hands-on legal experience across a broad range of practice areas, from contract drafting to litigation support. Requirements

Currently pursuing a law degree (J.D. candidate).
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with internal teams and outside counsel.
Creative thinker who is comfortable generating new ideas and trying innovative approaches.
Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to take initiative.
Willingness and ability to travel to New Orleans or other locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

Interest in maritime law, transportation, or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

Gain exposure to maritime law and the Jones Act, contracts, litigation, insurance, and finance.
Assist with contract drafting and review.
Support creation of a contract database.
Work with internal legal and claims teams and outside counsel on claims and litigation files.
Communicate with Marquette's marine insurance broker.
Assist with day-to-day tasks and special projects as needed.
