We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Department Summer Intern to support the legal function of a fast-paced, publicly traded medical device company across a variety of business functions and divisions. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate legal operations within a highly regulated healthcare environment, including commercial and corporate contracting, corporate governance, compliance and regulatory matters, and litigation support.

Requirements

  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate college coursework required
  • Pursuing a degree in Political Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, Pre-Law, Legal Studies, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Interest in medical device industry, healthcare, corporate law, compliance, or the medical device industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including optimism, diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout the company and with our customers and other business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing, organizing, and tracking commercial agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Support legal research related to corporate, commercial and employment laws, and other legal matters.
  • Help maintain legal records, contract databases, and document management systems.
  • Assist with litigation and intellectual property matters as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Legal Department.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Adhere to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus.
