About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking law students to support its Legal Department for the Summer 2026 internship program. This internship offers valuable experience in handling significant legal and contractual issues within a dynamic, full-service legal environment. Interns will work directly with attorneys, internal clients, and potentially with customers, suppliers, and service providers. The program aims to help interns develop an understanding of the aerospace industry, company operations, and the contributions of various disciplines to the company's success. Interns are expected to contribute fresh ideas and be productive members of the department, with their growth and contributions being visible.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a law degree program
  • Completion of at least one year of full-time law school or equivalent prior to starting the internship.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (this position may require access to systems/tools restricted to individuals who possess U.S. citizenship).

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of collaboration, flexibility, innovation, and initiative.
  • Strong interest in the study and application of law, with substantive knowledge of legal issues.
  • Some prior experience working with a legal department or law firm.
  • A strong understanding of our work history in business or aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and support the negotiation of contract terms based on business requirements and risk considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement legal risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct research and review newly promulgated federal acquisition rules.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Perform project management activities, including tracking deliverables, creating status reports, and monitoring the successful achievement of project goals.
  • Develop internal reference guides that outline key requirements of significant compliance frameworks relevant to the business.
