About The Position

Superior Group of Companies (NASDAQ: SGC) is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their fast-paced legal team. This role will focus approximately 70% on commercial contracting and 30% on other legal matters such as compliance, policy, research, and training. The Legal Counsel will primarily support BAMKO, the branded products business, and also provide support to SGC corporate. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that operates more like a tech company, requiring quick turnarounds and adaptability to shifting priorities. This position offers the opportunity to be a hands-on partner in a growing company that regularly acquires new businesses.

Requirements

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law, in good standing, in your state of residence.
3+ years of legal experience with a strong focus on commercial contracting; in-house experience strongly preferred.
Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Working knowledge of, or interest in, employment, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive matters.
Ability to work collaboratively across time zones; availability during Pacific-time business hours is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Experience in apparel, promotional products, manufacturing, distribution, or healthcare.
Experience with contract lifecycle management and document management platforms such as Agiloft or NetDocuments.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, vendor, and confidentiality agreements.
Serve as the go-to legal partner for sales, operations, and finance, delivering practical answers on business timelines.
Respond to legal and contractual sections of customer RFPs and questionnaires.
Maintain and improve contract templates, one-off forms, and standard terms.
Conduct legal research, including intellectual property matters, and support compliance initiatives.
Apply U.S. and international laws to business operations, with exposure to matters involving Canada, China, India, and Brazil.
Manage relationships with outside counsel on assigned matters.
Support acquisition and integration activity as the company grows.
Help lead the evaluation and rollout of contract management technology.
Review and refine company policies and deliver internal legal training.
