About The Position

At ALDO Group, we believe legal teams should be business enablers, not roadblocks. We're looking for a curious, business-minded Legal Counsel to join our international legal team and help support a fast-moving global retail organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer early in their career who is eager to learn, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact. You don't need to have all the answers on day one—we're looking for someone who brings strong judgment, a growth mindset, and a genuine interest in understanding the business behind the legal questions. You'll work closely with colleagues across Canada and the U.S., providing practical legal advice on a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, ESG/CSR initiatives, marketing and advertising, privacy, consumer protection, and more.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
• 0–3 years of experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal department, ideally with exposure to commercial law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly responsive, service-oriented, and collaborative.
• Adaptable and comfortable navigating changing business needs.
• Fluent in both French and English.
• Comfortable leveraging AI tools and technology to work smarter and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business teams to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements.
• Support a broad range of legal, corporate, governance, and compliance matters.
• Serve as a key legal contact for North American corporate matters.
• Contribute to ESG/CSR, privacy, consumer protection, and marketing initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with members of the legal team on strategic projects and emerging legal issues.
