About The Position

Reducto is seeking its first in-house Legal Counsel to build the commercial and legal infrastructure for a fast-growing AI document platform. This role involves collaborating closely with founders and the go-to-market team to manage contracts end-to-end, advise across the business, and establish scalable legal processes and templates. It's a high-impact position where the counsel will shape the legal operations from the outset.

Requirements

  • Hold yourself to a high bar for quality and precision.
  • 4+ years of legal experience with a strong track record drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Comfortable being the only lawyer in the room and making pragmatic calls independently.
  • Generalist mindset and willingness to tackle problems outside core expertise.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical teams and ability to build trust quickly across functions.
  • Ability to operate well in fast-moving, high-growth environments and balance attention to detail with the pace of the business.
  • Fluent use of AI tools and a track record of using them to improve efficiency and process.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior in-house experience at a B2B SaaS or AI company.
  • Experience building legal infrastructure from scratch, including templates, playbooks, and contract systems.
  • Understanding of how AI technologies intersect with privacy, IP, and competition law.
  • Experience navigating international legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including customer agreements, MSAs, SaaS subscriptions, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor contracts.
  • Create new form agreements where none exist.
  • Partner closely with the sales team as a responsive, solution-oriented advisor to facilitate deal closures.
  • Build and maintain scalable legal infrastructure: standard templates, a negotiation playbook, approval workflows, and a contract management system.
  • Provide pragmatic legal and regulatory guidance to teams across the company, from early-stage project development through launch.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations relevant to AI products, including data privacy, IP, and consumer protection, and ensure compliance.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and maintain focused and efficient legal spend.
