About The Position

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support our growing team by providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas, including labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. As a Trex Legal Counsel, you’ll have high attention to detail and excellent legal and business judgement. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.

Requirements

Juris Doctorate received from a competitive law school
Active license to practice law
8+ years of experience practicing law
2+ years of experience focused on employment or commercial law

Responsibilities

Lead and foster our “people first” culture.
Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including distribution, licensing and marketing contracts.
Assist in the management of the company’s insurance policies and strategies.
Provide counsel to senior leadership for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and other corporate transactions.
Manage and oversee company-wide record retention policy.
Partner with departmental cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Research and Development on various projects.
