About The Position

Joko is hiring a Legal Counsel, Product & Privacy to work with Product, Tech, and business teams to ensure that its products, including its AI shopping assistant Juno, comply with privacy, AI, consumer, and platform rules from product requirements through launch. The role reports directly to the Head of Legal. Privacy and AI are the core of the position. The Legal Counsel will run Joko’s GDPR programme across Europe in close collaboration with the DPO, including records of processing, DPIAs, privacy notices, data subject requests, processor agreements, and data transfers. The role will also support compliance with non-EU privacy laws, promote privacy by design, and advise the Juno team on AI Act compliance, transparency obligations, and model and vendor terms. The role also covers consumer and platform rules, including terms of use and sale, consumer offers and promotions, country-specific requirements, app and browser store policies, and affiliate network terms. In collaboration with business teams and external specialist counsel, the Legal Counsel will map the regulatory perimeter for each business line and new market, including payment, e-money, and gift-card regimes, and monitor whether products remain within their regulatory status as they evolve. Until the Legal team’s three areas of responsibility are staffed, each Legal Counsel works across the full legal scope with the Head of Legal. Functional ownership is formalized once both the Commercial & IP and Product & Privacy roles are filled. The position is remote-friendly, with flexible work arrangements described for people living in Paris or elsewhere.
