About The Position
Join Pax8 as a Legal Counsel – Global Commerce (US, Remote), where you’ll help power our evolution into an AI-first organisation while driving meaningful commercial impact across a rapidly scaling global marketplace. This is an opportunity to combine your commercial legal experience with programmatic leadership opportunities to drive meaningful change across the legal function. You’ll combine strong commercial legal expertise with cutting-edge AI exposure, building new capabilities while helping Pax8 transition into a truly AI-native business. From day one, you’ll gain hands-on experience with emerging tools that will elevate how legal work is delivered at scale.
Requirements
- Proven commercial legal excellence — Strong expertise in negotiating, drafting, and advising on complex commercial agreements, including key areas such as limitation of liability, indemnification, and risk allocation.
- Deep understanding of data and tech frameworks — Familiarity with data processing concepts, privacy considerations, and regulations such as GDPR, alongside broader cloud and software ecosystem knowledge.
- Commercial instincts and judgement — Confidence navigating “table stakes” legal issues such as privacy, security and commercial risk.
- AI curiosity and growth mindset — Excited to embrace AI tools, experiment with new technologies, and build capability in an evolving legal landscape.
- Impact-driven thinking — Ability to apply both your legal expertise and AI exposure to drive meaningful change across the legal function.
- Builder mentality — Experience or enthusiasm for creating scalable, programmatic approaches to engaging with stakeholders and trading partners.

Responsibilities
- Own core commercial work — Draft, review, negotiate, and simplify complex commercial and technology agreements in support of Pax8’s agentic marketplace ecosystem of vendors, partners and customers.
- Leverage AI as a force multiplier — Use AI-powered tools to accelerate contract workflows, enhance legal insights, and transform how the legal function operates.
- Build for scale — Contribute to programmatic, repeatable legal approaches that support a growing global marketplace and high-volume partner interactions.
- Collaborate deeply — Partner with commercial, product, and leadership teams to deliver practical, high-impact legal solutions.
- Drive strategic outcomes — Translate business goals into actionable legal roadmaps aligned with measurable outcomes.
- Streamline execution — Remove friction, reduce dependencies, and enable faster business decision-making.
- Stay ahead of change — Monitor legal, regulatory, and AI developments to guide the business proactively.
