We are looking for an Employment Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance Team. As part of a hardworking and efficient team of diverse specialists, you will be working with teams who are building the coolest technology on Earth!

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience providing employment and labor law advice, handling employment litigation cases, and defending agency actions, with a law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar; the successful candidate will subsequently be required to obtain admission to the Washington, Florida, or Alabama State bar after hire
  • Experience and familiarity with employment laws, with ability and desire to develop subject matter expertise on various employment law topics
  • Excellent research and analysis skills, able to distill complex legal issues, think strategically, and provide sound, clear legal advice to both Legal & Compliance and in-house clients
  • Ability to earn trust, build and maintain positive professional client and team relationships, become a trusted advisor to the business
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal advice to in-house clients on a variety of employment compliance issues, including workplace conduct, hiring, leaves and accommodations, investigations, disciplinary actions, separations, and employee relations.
  • Appropriately balance business needs and risk mitigation.
  • Develop subject matter expertise to support company locations in multiple states.
  • Work with other employment counsel and outside counsel in handling litigation strategy, EEOC responses, and communications with government agencies.
  • Provide support for regulatory and compliance matters such as EEOC, OFCCP, AAPs, and EEO-1 reporting.
  • Draft legal documents.
  • Participate with Legal and Human Resources Teams on developing company strategy and methodologies for processes that can scale with company growth.
