About The Position

The individual will support Biogen’s Worldwide Medical organization globally, reporting to the Legal and Compliance lead for Medical. In addition to providing business-enabling legal support and advice to various global Medical functions, this individual will serve as a Compliance business partner, providing compliance guidance and training to Medical functions, conducting risk assessment and monitoring activities, and helping to improve policies and controls.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years practicing law or serving as a Compliance professional
• Minimum 5 years experience related to BioPharma industry
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
• Excellent analytical, data synthesizing skills

Responsibilities

• Providing business-enabling legal support and advice to the Worldwide Medical organization, including contracting support and materials review
• Developing risk-based monitoring plans and performing regular compliance monitoring of identified high risk activities
• Providing training and ongoing education on legal and compliance related topics, policies and SOPs; designing risk-based training curriculums; supporting awareness tools and communication plans.
• Developing and revising policies, SOPs, and other controls in order to further mitigate risk
• Reviewing and approving (if justified) various types of external engagements and funding requests pursuant to existing policies and SOPs
• Providing support to the Medical Legal & Compliance lead with respect to legal and compliance matters and projects, as needed.
