About The Position

This internship experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including: Intern New Hire Orientation, Senior Leadership Speaker Series, Social & Networking Events, and Presentation Challenges. At the conclusion of this position, interns will have increased their knowledge of the mutual fund industry, various processes within, principles of and approaches to risk management. The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-12-week program, starting June 9th, 2027, and ending on August 13th, 2027. Students work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35-40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to students who are rising seniors (class of 2028). MFS is a hybrid work environment (with 2 remote days and 3 on-site days) unless otherwise stated in the job posting. The LCERM team is responsible for operations of the division and is actively involved in technology, management of LCERM owned vendor relationships, budgeting, and process improvement across the division. Our staff members interact with many groups across the company as well as within the various departments of our division.

Requirements

  • Proven attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience using AI platforms including ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based programs including MS Teams, and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Rising seniors (class of 2028).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to or interest in MS SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of existing processes, looking for ways to streamline the workflow and/or improve process controls.
  • Assist in developing communications across the division, and how best to deploy those communications.
  • Assist in a variety of operational areas, including logistics, audit controls, financial review, etc., and help develop or suggest potential improvements in same.
  • Assist the Operations team in growing the implementation and support of AI within the department.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
