HazteOír is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Legal Campaigner to strengthen our advocacy efforts through legal action, litigation, and public-interest legal strategies. Legal Campaigners play an important role in supporting HazteOír’s advocacy efforts through legal strategy and litigation. Their work helps strengthen integrated campaigns by ensuring legal actions are coordinated, strategically executed, and aligned with campaign objectives. You will contribute by preparing legal documents, researching legal opportunities, monitoring legal proceedings, and supporting campaign teams with legal analysis and guidance. You will also work alongside communications and media teams to help translate complex legal matters into clear and impactful messaging. This role requires someone who can work independently, think strategically, and respond quickly to changing legal and political developments. Legal Campaigners report to the Legal and Communication Manager.

Requirements

  • Based in Madrid, Spain.
  • Law degree; a master’s degree and bar membership are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on a range of legal actions and projects, taking initiative to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Strong legal research, analysis, and document drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI to generate legal opinions and reports.
  • Experience in public interest litigation or advocacy campaigns.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in translating complex legal issues into clear and impactful messaging.
  • Passionate about and committed to defending life, family, and freedom.
  • High professionalism, self-motivation, and results-oriented delivery under tight deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork skills and comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture and hierarchical structure.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing legal and political conditions.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace tools.
  • At least a B2-level proficiency in English. (Duolingo English Test required for non-natives, minimum score of 100).
  • Spanish and other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen campaigns through legal strategies, including judicial actions.
  • Establish and manage relationships with law firms and legal professionals.
  • Prepare and submit legal documents, appeals, complaints, and lawsuits as part of the legal strategies.
  • Analyze possible legal proceedings that could be initiated in ongoing cases and plan their execution.
  • Continuously monitor and update the status of legal cases.
  • Keep campaigners and directors informed on case developments.
  • Develop legal strategies in collaboration with the Campaigns and Communication teams to maximize the impact of campaigns.
  • Draft and disseminate press releases focused on legal matters.
  • Communicate with media specialized in court matters, ensuring proper coverage of legal actions and decisions.
  • Research legal cases, prepare witness statements, and provide comprehensive legal reports.
  • Document legal briefs, organize summaries, prepare indexes, and create tracking tables for legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate with the Media Campaigners to prepare spokespersons for media appearances related to legal matters.
  • Review and analyze legal documents received and prepare a detailed report in cases involving large volumes of information.
  • Create standardized work templates in Google Drive to improve workflow efficiency.
