About The Position

We are in search of an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Business Law and Business Litigation teams. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and is familiar with supporting Lawyers managing a busy practice. If you are someone who is able to anticipate needs, take initiative, and are eager to work in a collaborative environment, you will thrive in this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal program
  • 1-2 years of experience in Business Law and/or Litigation.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Critical thinker, problem solver, and team player with a positive attitude excited to contribute to a collaborative culture.
  • Adept at using software such as Outlook and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned Business Law and/or Business Litigation files through their entire life cycle.
  • Conducting client intake, completing conflict searches, and opening new client files.
  • Coordinating Lawyer(s) schedule and agenda, including booking client meetings.
  • Drafting routine correspondence for Lawyer review, proofreading, and filing legal documents with various courts.
  • Monitor and track deadlines.
  • Reviewing and prioritizing incoming and outgoing mail/couriers, coordinating faxes, and scanning/copying documents.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, answering client inquiries and providing updates with professionalism.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper client files with the use of a document management system.
  • Transcribing dictations using appropriate format, producing documents, correspondence, and all follow-up work as directed.
  • Collaborating with team members to provide coverage and support across the Business Law and Business Litigation teams.
